Profile

Mary joined the Wolves coaching staff in fall 2024 and works primarily with our U12 team. She brings a wealth of coaching and playing experience to the team. Mary is also an ACE-certified group fitness instructor and personal trainer. Through her business, Connect Team Fitness, she applies a team-oriented approach to training and fitness for adults, kids and athletes from a range of sports, including softball, lacrosse, volleyball, soccer and field hockey.

About Mary:

Mary was a two-time All-Big Ten and three-time Regional All-American field hockey player at the University of Iowa and was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year her senior year. While at Iowa, her teams advanced to two Final Fours and were undefeated in Big Ten play in two seasons, including her final season as captain when they finished the regular season ranked second in the nation.

Following her playing career, Coach Mary served as assistant field hockey coach at Harvard and the University of Virginia, where she helped lead UVA to three-straight NCAA tournament appearances. She holds a Level I certification from USA Field Hockey, has coached with Beyond Sticks and HUSEL, and currently serves as an assistant varsity coach at McLean High School.
